Your data rights and privacy choices for Paws.Progress.
Every session you log, every dog profile, every tag, every note — all of it is stored locally on your device. It stays there unless you choose to back it up yourself.
In Version 1, Paws.Progress has no sign-in, no cloud sync, and no accounts. Your data never leaves your phone.
Open the Paws.Progress app. Everything you've logged is right there — session history, heatmap, trends, dog profiles. That's your data, in full.
We don't hold a copy anywhere else, so there's nothing we can send you. Your right of access under UK GDPR applies to data we hold — in Version 1, that's crash reports and support correspondence, not your session data.
Open the session in the app and delete it. Scores and analytics are recalculated automatically. The session is gone permanently.
You have two options:
There is no cloud copy to chase. Deletion is immediate and final.
A small amount of data is held by us or our service providers, separate from your training sessions.
Anonymous technical reports about app crashes, used to fix bugs. These do not contain your session data, your dog's name, or anything personal you typed into the app. Managed by Google Firebase Crashlytics. You can turn this off in settings at any time.
A note on identification. Crash reports are linked only to an anonymous installation identifier generated and managed by Google. That identifier is not your app's internal UUID and is not linked to your name, email, or anything else we or you know about you. We cannot send you a copy of crash data relating to your use of the app, because we cannot identify which reports are yours.
If you would like crash report data deleted, email privacy@pawsprogress.app with the approximate dates you used the app. We submit a date-range deletion request to Google covering that period. This deletes all crash data from that window, including yours.
If you email us at any @pawsprogress.app
address, we keep that correspondence to provide support, track bug reports, and respond to your request. We delete
it after 12 months unless you request earlier deletion.
The addresses we use are listed on our support page.
That's it. We hold no other data about you.
You have rights under UK GDPR in relation to personal data we hold about you. In Version 1, the only personal data we hold that we can link to you is email correspondence you've sent us directly.
For that correspondence, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@pawsprogress.app from the email address you used to contact us. We respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
Crash reports are a different case. Because they are linked only to an anonymous installation identifier managed by Google, we cannot identify you within that data. Under UK GDPR Article 11, we are not required to re-identify you solely to fulfil a data rights request. If you want crash data relating to your use of the app deleted, see Section 4.1 above — we can delete by date range, even if we cannot isolate your records specifically.
Under UK GDPR Article 20, the right to data portability applies to personal data that you have provided to a controller and that is processed by automated means based on consent or contract.
In Version 1, your session data is stored on your device and is not provided to us. We are not a controller of that data. This right therefore has nothing to act on in our direction.
Derived data — such as scores calculated by the app, trend outputs, ratings, and heatmap aggregations — is not in scope of the portability right under Article 20, as clarified by the ICO. This is consistent across data controllers processing user inputs through proprietary algorithms.
A future version of Paws.Progress will offer optional cloud backup. When that launches, some of your data will be held by us or our service providers, and this page will be updated to reflect what can be accessed, exported, and deleted at that point.
Until then, the picture on this page stands: your data is on your device, and your rights in relation to it are exercised in the app.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority:
We would always prefer the opportunity to address your concern directly first. Please contact us at privacy@pawsprogress.app before escalating to a regulator.
This page applies to Paws.Progress Version 1. It will be updated in full prior to the launch of cloud backup, user accounts, or any data sharing features. For the full privacy framework, see our Privacy Policy.
