These Terms govern your use of the Paws.Progress app.
Paws.Progress is operated by George Hart, acting as a sole trader. References in these Terms to "we", "us" or "our" refer to George Hart trading as Paws.Progress.
By downloading, installing, or using the Paws.Progress app, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
If you are using the app on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have authority to bind that person to these Terms. In practice, the app is designed for individual use by a single handler.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notice before the updated Terms take effect. Continued use of the app after that notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The 'Last updated' date at the top of this document reflects when it was most recently revised.
Paws.Progress is a personal dog training session tracker. It allows you to log training sessions, score your dog's behaviour across four pillars, tag environmental conditions, and view trends over time.
Paws.Progress is a data mirror. It surfaces patterns in the data you record. It does not:
Any decisions you make about your dog's training, management, or welfare based on information displayed in the app are made at your own discretion and risk. We strongly recommend working with a qualified professional for any significant training or behavioural concerns.
All data you enter into Paws.Progress — including dog names, photos, session records, scores, and tags — belongs to you. We make no claim of ownership over your data.
In Version 1 of the app, all your data is stored locally on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers. You retain full control at all times. For full details of how we handle your data, including the limited circumstances in which anonymous crash reporting data may be collected with your opt-in consent, please read our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for maintaining a backup of your data if you wish to preserve it when changing or losing your device. Version 1 does not include cloud backup functionality.
The Paws.Progress app, including its design, code, scoring methodology, and all content we have created, is owned by George Hart and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
You may not:
Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
You agree to use Paws.Progress only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You must not use the app:
We reserve the right to withdraw access to the app if we reasonably believe these Terms have been materially breached, though in Version 1 there is no account system through which we could enforce this technically.
Paws.Progress is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including but not limited to:
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, George Hart shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of Paws.Progress, including but not limited to:
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. As the app is currently free, this means our liability is limited to zero in monetary terms, subject to the exceptions below.

The app may use third-party services, including Firebase (provided by Google LLC) for optional crash reporting where you have opted in. Your use of those services is subject to Google's own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party service provider.
Links to third-party websites or resources, if any appear in the app, are provided for convenience only. We do not endorse and are not responsible for their content, products, or services.
Paws.Progress is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Your download and use of the app is also subject to the terms of the relevant app store from which you downloaded it. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the app store's terms, the app store's terms will apply to the extent of the conflict in relation to the app store's own services.
Apple Inc. and Google LLC are not parties to these Terms and have no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app. To the extent permitted by law, Apple and Google have no warranty obligation in respect of the app beyond any legally required minimum.
We may withdraw, suspend, or discontinue the app or any part of it at any time without notice. We are a small indie operation and cannot guarantee indefinite availability.
As the app stores all data locally on your device in Version 1, withdrawal of the app does not result in loss of your existing data — your records remain on your device until you choose to delete them.
You may stop using the app at any time. You can wipe all locally stored data at any time using the Wipe app data function in the Danger Zone of your settings, which clears all session records, dog information, and your device identifier in a single action. Uninstalling the app will also remove all locally stored data from your device. There is no cloud backup in Version 1 — ensure you are comfortable losing your data before doing either.
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.
We would always prefer to resolve any concern directly. If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us in the first instance at privacy@pawsprogress.app. We will aim to respond within 14 days.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you have the right to refer it to the courts of England and Wales, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights protections applicable in your jurisdiction.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and George Hart in relation to your use of Paws.Progress and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
